Gold Camp Road

Drive slow and enjoy the scenery -- drive fast and join the scenery.
--Doug Horton

Pictured here are scenes found along Gold Camp Road which winds through the mountains southwest of downtown Colorado Spring to North Cheyenne Canyon Park. The road is narrow and rough, but offers spectacular views of the city and the mountains. How great that this awesome road is right outside of the city! Lots of trails to explore as well.

The road follows an old railroad bed that once led from Colorado Springs to the gold mines in Cripple Creek, CO. Today, the lower part near Colorado Springs can be driven, and the upper section is open to hiking and biking. More information and directions here.
